FuMP 22 Album Cover
(September 06, 2010)
As I'm sure many of you know I have a degree in Illustration. Yes, I can draw and paint. I have a a whole mess of paintings in my basement to prove it. So I was shocked when I realized-as I was working on the latest FuMP album cover-that I have yet to do an illustration for The FuMP.
Most of it has just been time and my lack thereof. Other people have stepped up so I didn't have to do much other than lay out whatever artwork I was given. I did design volumes 3 and 8, but those are hardly complicated designs and they're not illustrations. Well, since Luke was busy getting ready for his wedding and nobody else stepped in I was forced to do an illustration for The FuMP Volume 22. Check it out:

This spoof of the Super Smash Bros. Melee cover was inspired by Insane Ian's songs MvL which is included on the CD. If you don't recognize the people involved that's (clockwise from left) Insane Ian as Mario, the great Luke Ski as Link, Tom Smith as Bowser, and Seamonkey as Pikachu. In the boxes we have TV's Kyle and myself as whatever those flower creatures are, Carla Ulbrich as Princess Peach, Steve Goodie who was sort of based on Donkey Kong, and Dino-Mike who isn't based on anyone because everyone left is either an animal or in some weird costume and I figured it wouldn't be recognizable.
I'm hoping to do more FuMP CD illustrations in the future. This was fun. I need to do more drawing. I forgot how much I enjoy it.
