Asbury Park Show - That Was Interesting
(October 18, 2003)
Update- 10/23/03.
Normally I'd put the gig reports in the message boards, but since I already have this news item posted I'll just put it here.
I want to give a big shout out to Jim and Marge Longo, and John "Smertie" Smertneck who were the only people who showed up to see me out of the dozen or so who said they were coming. But hey, that's OK. The show went well. I have a couple technical issues to work out with my stage show program now that I've upgraded my laptop to OSX, but otherwise the show went well.
The second act to go on was a non-funny act. It was pretty depressing actually. The guy was there to raise money for some 6-year-old with brain cancer. But most of the people in the crowd were actually there to see him, so it didn't matter.
Then DaVinci's Notebook took the stage. And they took the stage, spun it around, and rocked it like I've never seen! They were incredible! They had absolutely no idea who I was, but that's OK. I guess the mythos of Sudden Death hasn't spread to Virginia yet. They put on an amazing show. If you ever get the chance to see them perform definitely go do it. You will not regret it.
Update- 10/20/03.
We got the gig! Come see us perform this Wednesday at The Saint in Asbury Park. This is Sudden Death's first show EVER in New Jersey. It will not be one to miss, especially since we'll be opening for the incredibly funny and talented DaVinci's Notebook!
-----
We've been given an opportunity to open for DaVinci's Notebook THIS WEDNESDAY (October 22nd) at The Saint in Asbury Park, NJ. However, we have to be able to guarantee the club that at least 10 people will show up. So, will YOU come?
I need to tell the club by tomorrow night (that's Sunday, the 19th) whether or not I'll be able to guarantee 10 people. So if you can make it and would come if we got the gig please email me and let me know NOW.
I know it's short notice but this could be a killer show! Just picture us and DaVinci's Notebook on the same bill! It's going to rock! But you have to come!
