The Regeneration
After a few years of playing The Doctor, William Hartnell's health began to fail and he was unable to continue in the role. So that the show could continue the producers came up with the idea of regeneration. That is, when the Doctor is seriously injured or sick his body can be reborn into a new one. This allowed Patrick Troughton to take over in the title role even though he looked and acted nothing like William Hartnell.
This is my song for the 7th Doctor, played by Sylvester McCoy, and features Sophie Aldred who played his companion Ace during his run as The Doctor.
